The car has become one of the most loved, contested and influential innovations in the world – it was also the driving force that accelerated the pace of the 20th century.

See a selection of 15 cars, some that have never been on display in the UK, and around 250 objects, each telling a story about cars’ impact on the world, from evolving cities, influencing fashion, and creating sub-cultures.
