2. Honest Burger

3. Dip & Flip
Want to take your burger to the next level? Dip it in gravy, of course! Or at least, that's what they believe at Dip & Flip. Order its namesake Dip & Flip burger, topped with roast meat, with a bowl of dipping gravy on the side. With a growing number of locations, they have quickly become one of the best burger restaurants in town.
4. Patty & Bun
Patty & Bun's cheesy burger names are certainly memorable. You can't go wrong with their classic Ari Gold with red leicester cheese and smokey mayo on top of double Angus Beef patties. Branch locations include Liverpool Street, London Fields and Soho. Look out for the £6 off-menu burger specials too.
5. Joe Allen
Joe Allen is about as authentic as you can get when it comes to American-style restaurants in London. Founded in New York in 1965 and a Covent Garden favourite since 1977, Joe Allen has developed a mystique around its off-menu burger (ask your server for details). It's not always available, but it's a surefire highlight when it is.
Ticking all the boxes for meat-eaters, MEATliquor in Islington serves up perfectly cooked slabs of beef in a range of American-style combinations. The perpetual fan favourite is the Dead Hippie burger made with secret sauce, grilled with real butter and fries (not chips) on the side, and we haven't even mentioned the liquor yet...
7. Mother Flipper
Hunt down Mother Flipper's mobile van for juicy burgers on the go. There's just six choices, including the Chilli Chorizo Flipper. It's usually situated at Brockley Market on Saturdays and makes regular appearances at other London street food markets — check the Mother Flipper Twitter feed for updates.
8. Meat and Shake
Looking for a halal burger? Experience southern barbeque at its finest at Meat and Shake, where the delicious meat is halal. Tuck into Lafayette wings, BBQ smoked brisket burger and pit beans. Top it off with deep fried Oreo doughnuts with ice cream. All of this indulgent deliciousness is available in Tooting, Ealing and Watford.
9. Burger & Lobster
When you see lobster and truffle on the list of burger toppings, you know you're in for a treat. The B&L burger is as upmarket as burgers come and you can only find it at Burger & Lobster. Or stick to just one or the other of course, but why not have the best of both worlds?
11. Boom Burger
Find out if the promise of "a little piece of Jamaica in the heart of London" is really true at Boom Burger, on Portobello Road. Chomp down on a Boom Burger or Fish Boom with a side of plantain fries, then step out and soak up Notting Hill's relaxed vibe at this London burger restaurant from Jamaican-born chef Josh de Lisser.
