This historic church, designed by George Dance the Elder (the favourite pupil of Christopher Wren), opened its doors 1740 and was dedicated to St Leonard. The beautiful church tower has drawn the eye of many a sightseer over the years and is well worth a visit. The stone octagon of the gallery, its fluted cupola and the Corinthian columns will surely please even the most seasoned student of architecture.
